Our Commitment A Printing Family Generations in Print From Three Centuries Investing in the Future

From three centuries

Three posters printed by Turners, spanning 140 years. The ’Longford Union’ poster dates back to 1870, using handset type and printed on a handfed Columbian press.

The ’Badminton’ poster reflects progress in composition for letterpress printing, using a mixture of Linotype machine setting and handset headlines. It was printed on a vertical Meheile press and dates from the 1950’s.

The ’Sean MacEoin’ poster was computer scanned, typeset, and digitally originated in 2006. It was printed on the KBA ten colour press.

The Meheile press was an American machine from the 1950’s, and US dollars were required for its purchase, a difficult request in post-war Europe. General Sean MacEoin (1922 poster above) was the local TD at the time and he assisted in organising availability of the currency for the purchase.
